Laura Schneider, LCSW/LMSW
Clinical Psychotherapist
Laura Schneider is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey and a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of New York. She specializes in trauma, mood disorders, and addiction. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help patients reconnect with their strengths and move toward meaningful, sustainable change. In addition, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help patients process difficult experiences, reduce emotional distress, and build lasting resilience.
Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed, compassionate framework that recognizes how past experiences can shape present challenges. She understands that trauma influences the way individuals see themselves, others, and the world, and she provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore, heal, and grow. With a collaborative and personalized approach, she supports patients in navigating difficult emotions, building resilience, strengthening coping strategies, and fostering meaningful, lasting change. She believes that healing is possible at any stage of life and that therapy can be both a place of deep understanding and meaningful transformation.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University, where she also minored in Child and Family Studies. She earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. Her nearly 20 years in the field have included working with children, families, trauma survivors, and individuals struggling with substance use. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, crocheting, art activities, and playing the guitar.
