Adult Psychotherapy

Therapy for Adults
Individual therapy for adults involves developing a trusting relationship with a therapist, in a safe and confidential environment. The trusting relationship with your therapist will facilitate your collaborative work on improving your mental health and well-being.
Our goal is to match you with the right therapist and type of therapy, so you can overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, insomnia, stress, relationship challenges, and anything else!
Most individual adult sessions last 45 minutes and occur once per week. At times, it might be more helpful to meet for 60 minute weekly sessions, instead. The session times and frequency of sessions will be discussed with you, and decided upon collaboratively, between you and your therapist.

What is Adult Psychotherapy?
At Center for Resiliency, adult psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment process that involves working with one of our mental health professionals who has expertise in your emotional, psychological, or behavioral concerns. Adult therapy treatment can help individuals dealing with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship problems. Through the implementation of research-based therapeutic techniques, psychotherapy helps adults develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and make meaningful life changes.
Who can Benefit from Adult Therapy?
Adult psychotherapy can benefit individuals experiencing:
- Anxiety & Depression: Therapy helps reduce symptoms, improve mood, and build resilience.
- Stress & Burnout: Effective coping strategies for managing work, personal life stress, and overwhelming feelings. There’s a plethora of coping strategies that exist and there is no one-size-fits-all! Your CFR therapist will work with you to find the most effective ones for you.
- Trauma & PTSD: Processing past traumas to promote healing and emotional recovery. “Processing” traumas can take on different meanings through different treatment approaches. Again, there is no one-size-fits all approach to healing from trauma. Our expert trauma therapists are trained in several different evidence-based trauma treatments for this reason!
- Relationship Problems: Enhancing communication, resolving conflicts, and improving relationship satisfaction. Whether it’s through individual or couples therapy, our therapists are trained in helping you (and/or your partner) navigate interpersonal relationships more effectively and break old, unhelpful relational patterns.
- Grief & Loss: Emotional support through difficult life transitions, including bereavement.
