Family Psychotherapy

Therapy for Families

Family therapy can address a wide array of challenging family dynamics by helping to identify patterns, concerns, and needs of each family member in order to strengthen the family as a whole unit. Family therapy can help improve:

  • Parent and child conflict
  • Addiction affecting family dynamics
  • Sibling rivalry
  • Grief
  • Distress
  • Children’s behavioral problems
  • Issues with eldercare, such as navigating a parent’s or grandparent’s health decline
  • Navigating a family member’s mental health issue, such as depression, bipolar, anxiety, and more

Your CFR family therapist will help to de-escalate the negative cycle of interaction in the family, support each family member in deepening their understanding of their own feelings and thoughts in relation to the family dynamic, and remove obstacles that prevent each family member from being vulnerable and transparent with each other. Together, you and your therapist will help to break the “negative” cycle and create more positive interactions and stronger connections between family members.
